Lappfjärd

The Lappfjärd wind farm is located near Kristinestad in southwestern Finland.

The project is a cooperation venture between our subsidiary CPC Finland Oy and Prime Capital AG. The wind farm is being realized with the turbine manufacturer Vestas and with the help of the companies Suvic, Hitachi, Veo and Maarakennus Hautala.

The realization of the project takes place in two construction phases, the first of them has already been successfully completed.

With a commissioning date of the end of 2022 and a total capacity of 192MW, the implementation of the first construction phase took place in a record time of 18 months. In the process, 31 Vestas V162 6.2MW wind turbines with a hub height of 230m were installed. The realized production capacity equals the electricity consumption of the entire population of the city of Vaasa (approximately 70,000 inhabitants).

The second construction phase increases the total capacity of the wind farm by another 50MW. The number of wind turbines thus increases by eight to a total of 39 Vestas V162 6.2MW. Project implementation is already in full swing and will be completed on schedule by the end of 2023.
